UrbanMeritage announces Caffè Nero to join Avantage Newbury, Newbury Street's premier retail portfolio

Long-term lease for Caffè Nero to open at 205-207 Newbury Street.

Boston, Mass. (May 22, 2017) — Avantage Newbury, Newbury Street’s premier retail portfolio announces the completion of a lease with Caffè Nero for 2,400 square feet at 205-207 Newbury Street.

“When we conceptualized the combining of 205-207 Newbury, we were struck with how well it lays out for a food user, said Mike Jammen, Principal of Avantage Newbury. Since Newbury Street is Boston’s most cosmopolitan street, we wanted to bring a European style coffee house experience to Newbury. We looked for an operator with extensive experience with neighborhood locations and we immediately identified Caffè Nero as the best in the business. They are multi-national, but already local and already in neighborhoods such as the South End, Central Square, Wellesley, and Brookline Village. By reconfiguring our patios, we can create outdoor seating for approximately 30 on the sunny side of Newbury with over fifty-five feet of frontage. The combination of a local gathering spot, superior coffee and delicious beverages, a selection of wine and beer, along with fresh, deli-style pastries and sandwiches will immediately make this European café a Newbury Street destination, and may invoke memories of the Armani Café. In addition, they supplement their European products with locally sourced fresh items from throughout New England.
